I sewed the pouch in a gold cotton fabric (lined in black cotton) and embroidered it with Rayon Madeira embroidery thread Col. 1241 Nr. 40 weight. The design is supposed to be a Celestial Sun symbol from Illuminati according to the friend who asked me to make it into an embroidery design, but I cannot find a reference to it anywhere. I found this doll chair in an antique store in Florida. I was so proud of my unique cast iron ball and claw leg doll sized chair purchase... until I found a half dozen more like it in the next antique store. Oh well, at least I didn't pay more for it in the first shop than was being asked in the second... and third... I re-covered the seat in a gold upholstery fabric and embroidered it with Rayon Madeira embroidery thread Col. 1032 Nr. 40 weight. The design is a freebie (resized to fill the Viking Designer 1 100mm x 100mm hoop) named Emb00013 that I downloaded from the web in my early days - before I kept track of where I downloaded freebies from. So my apologies to the original artist for not giving credit where it's due, if you are that person please email me with your web page so I can post a link here. Published in the Trunk Show section of the Winter 2002 issue of Creative Machine Embroidery magazine!!! I made these banners for my friend's daughters, to hang over their beds on either side of a custom painted window shade, keeping in the medieval and renaissance theme of their bedroom. The designs were purchased from Embroidery Online, the left banner is the Blue Knight and the right banner is the Falcon Knight. Both were embroidered in the 150mm x 240mm large hoop on gold cotton fabric. The fabric the designs were embroidered on was then cut out in a shield shape using a template created from the customizing software using one of the packaged shapes. Each embroidered shield was backed by another shield shape, stuffed with quilt batting and machine appliquéd onto the banners using a 4mm satin stitch. The banners themselves are made of gold and purple cotton, with the gold cotton machine quilted in a diamond pattern and the purple cotton machine quilted in a channel pattern, both over another layer of quilt batting. Upholstery weight tri-fiber piping was used on the sides and bottoms in contrast to each half of the banners and each banner has a purple tassel at its bottom point. The banners are backed with a rusty red cotton to match the satin appliqué stitching. The gold, purple, and rust colors are the primary colors of the custom painted window shade and thus the color choice in the banners. I sewed the pouch in a purple cotton fabric (lined to match) and embroidered it with Rayon Madeira embroidery thread Col. 1000 and Col. 1147 Nr. 40 weight. The design is a modified freebie that I downloaded from the web in my early days - before I kept track of where I downloaded freebies from. So my apologies to the original artist for not giving credit where it's due, if you are that person please email me with your web page so I can post a link here. I modified the design by removing some of the contrasting white highlights on the inkwell which made it look better in my opinion (no offense to the original artist of course). I made this journal cover for a plot line in Wildlands South, it's a gift to the High Mage of Thorn Reach. The kingdom is Elven, its standard colors are red and yellow. The front of the journal represents a fairy type creature entering into a circle of flowers (representing the opening of a book), the back of the journal represents a fairy type creature exiting a circle of flowers (representing the closing of a book). The inside front of the cover is a sunrise and the inside back of the cover is a sunset, each in one of the standard colors of the kingdom. The bookmark has the words Thorn Reach in (Wildlands South's version of) Elven, once again in the standard colors of the kingdom. I sewed the journal in a gold upholstery fabric (lined in gold cotton to match) and trimmed the top and bottom edges with a yellow gold upholstery piping. The flower centers on both the front and back are embellished with beads, as is the area around each fairy's wings. The front of the journal is a combination of two freebies: a fairy freebie from AnnTheGran and a flower freebie from an unknown location. The back of the journal is a combination of two freebies: a fairy freebie from AnnTheGran and a flower freebie from an unknown location. The inside front and back covers are a sunset freebie from AnnTheGran. |
